REFUND POLICY

KING OF FLASH – REFUND & RETURNS POLICY

Last updated: 28 September 2026

We want customers to be satisfied with their purchase from King of Flash.

This policy explains your rights if:

  • you change your mind;

  • you receive a faulty product;

  • you receive the wrong product;

  • your order arrives damaged; or

  • there is another problem with your order.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

2. QUICK SUMMARY

For UK consumer orders:

Changed your mind?

You normally have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us that you wish to cancel under your statutory distance-selling rights.

You then normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.

King of Flash additionally offers consumers a voluntary 30-day change-of-mind returns policy, subject to the conditions explained below.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied product?

Please contact us as soon as possible.

Your rights for faulty or incorrectly described goods are separate from your change-of-mind rights and are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Ordered the wrong item yourself?

This will normally be treated as a change-of-mind return rather than a faulty-product return.

3. YOUR STATUTORY 14-DAY RIGHT TO CANCEL

If you are a consumer who purchased goods from us online, you normally have the right to cancel the contract without giving a reason.

For most orders, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone nominated by you other than the delivery carrier, receives the goods.

If one order is delivered in several separate deliveries, the cancellation period will normally run from the date you receive the final item from that order.

4. HOW TO CANCEL

To exercise your statutory right to cancel, you must clearly tell us that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period expires.

The easiest way is to email:

help@kingofflash.co.uk

Please include, where possible:

  • your name;

  • order number;

  • the item or items being returned; and

  • your contact details.

You do not need to give us a reason for exercising your statutory cancellation right.

You may also write to:

King of Flash Ltd
Unit 10 Broughton Business Centre
95–103 Broughton Lane
Salford
M7 1UH
United Kingdom

5. RETURNING THE GOODS

After informing us that you are cancelling under your statutory cancellation rights, you must normally return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us.

Unless we have agreed otherwise, returns should be sent to:

King of Flash Ltd
Unit 10 Broughton Business Centre
95–103 Broughton Lane
Salford
M7 1UH
United Kingdom

Please include your:

  • order number;

  • name; and

  • sufficient information for us to identify the return.

We recommend retaining proof of postage until your return has been completed.

6. RETURN POSTAGE FOR CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

If you are returning an item simply because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to us unless we have agreed otherwise.

We recommend using a suitable postal service and obtaining proof of postage.

If the goods are:

  • faulty;

  • damaged when supplied;

  • incorrectly supplied; or

  • not as described,

please contact us before returning them, as different arrangements apply and we will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.

7. OUR VOLUNTARY 30-DAY RETURNS POLICY

In addition to your statutory rights, King of Flash offers consumers a voluntary 30-day change-of-mind returns policy.

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order.

For returns requested after the statutory cancellation period but within our voluntary 30-day period, we ask that goods are:

  • unused;

  • undamaged;

  • complete;

  • in resaleable condition; and

  • returned with their original packaging where reasonably possible.

Any accessories, instructions or other components supplied with the product should also be returned.

Our voluntary 30-day policy is additional to your legal rights and does not reduce them.

8. OPENED AND USED PRODUCTS

Your statutory right to inspect an online purchase is not automatically lost merely because packaging has been opened.

However, you are responsible for handling goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their:

  • nature;

  • characteristics; and

  • functioning.

This is broadly equivalent to the level of inspection that would reasonably be possible when examining goods in a physical shop.

If goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and their value has consequently been reduced, we may make an appropriate deduction from your refund where the law permits us to do so.

9. PRINTER CARTRIDGES, INK AND CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS

Because many of the products we sell are printer cartridges and other consumable products, please check compatibility carefully before opening or installing them.

For a change-of-mind return, installing a cartridge into a printer and using ink from it may go beyond what is reasonably necessary simply to inspect the product.

Where a cartridge has been installed or used and this has materially reduced its resale value, we may make an appropriate deduction from a statutory change-of-mind refund where permitted by law.

Under our additional voluntary 30-day returns policy, we may decline a change-of-mind return of a used consumable product once the statutory cancellation period has expired.

This does not apply where the cartridge or other product is faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Your statutory rights concerning faulty goods remain unaffected.

10. ORDERED THE WRONG CARTRIDGE OR PRODUCT

Please check the:

  • cartridge number;

  • printer model;

  • product description;

  • size;

  • specification; and

  • compatibility information

before ordering.

If we supplied exactly the product you ordered but you subsequently discover that you selected the wrong cartridge, model or product, this will normally be treated as a change-of-mind return.

The change-of-mind return provisions above will therefore apply.

However, if our website stated that the product was compatible with your printer and that information was incorrect, please contact us. This may instead be treated as goods which were not as described.

11. FAULTY GOODS

Goods supplied to consumers must comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

This includes requirements that goods must generally be:

  • of satisfactory quality;

  • fit for any particular purpose made known to us where applicable; and

  • as described.

If you believe a product is faulty, please contact us at:

help@kingofflash.co.uk

Please provide:

  • your order number;

  • the product concerned;

  • a description of the problem; and

  • photographs or other information where reasonably useful.

For printer cartridges, it may also be helpful to provide:

  • your printer make and model;

  • any printer error message;

  • a photograph of the cartridge;

  • a photograph or screenshot showing the error; and

  • details of any troubleshooting already attempted.

This helps us diagnose compatibility or cartridge issues quickly.

12. FAULTY GOODS WITHIN 30 DAYS

If goods do not conform to the contract, consumers normally have a statutory 30-day short-term right to reject the goods, subject to the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Where you validly exercise that right, you will normally be entitled to a refund.

The statutory 30-day faulty-goods period is separate from the 14-day change-of-mind cancellation period.

13. FAULTS AFTER 30 DAYS

If a fault arises after the initial short-term right to reject has expired, you may be entitled to a:

  • repair; or

  • replacement.

The appropriate remedy depends on the circumstances and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If a repair or replacement:

  • is impossible;

  • is unsuccessful;

  • is not provided within a reasonable time; or

  • causes significant inconvenience,

you may then have further statutory remedies, which can include a price reduction or final right to reject where the applicable legal requirements are met.

14. FAULTS DURING THE FIRST SIX MONTHS

Where goods fail to conform to the contract during the first six months after delivery, consumer law generally treats the problem as having existed at the time of delivery unless:

  • we can establish otherwise; or

  • that presumption would be inconsistent with the nature of the goods or fault.

This does not mean every product has an automatic six-month guarantee regardless of what happened to it.

We may reasonably inspect or test returned goods to determine the nature of the problem.

15. CLAIMS AFTER SIX MONTHS

Your consumer rights do not automatically end after six months.

However, after six months, you may be required to show that the problem resulted from a fault or lack of conformity that existed when the goods were supplied.

The legal limitation period for contractual claims in England and Wales can extend for up to six years.

This does not mean that all products are guaranteed or expected to last for six years.

The reasonable expected life of a product depends on factors including its:

  • type;

  • price;

  • description;

  • normal usage; and

  • expected durability.

16. TESTING FAULTY PRODUCTS

We may reasonably inspect or test goods returned as faulty.

This is particularly relevant to products such as compatible printer cartridges, memory products, cables, chargers and electronic accessories where an apparent fault may sometimes result from:

  • compatibility;

  • incorrect installation;

  • printer settings;

  • firmware;

  • damaged equipment;

  • incorrect product selection; or

  • another issue unrelated to the product itself.

Our testing process does not remove your statutory rights.

If testing confirms that the goods are faulty, we will provide the remedy required by law.

17. WRONG ITEM SENT

If we have accidentally sent you a product different from the product you ordered, please contact us at:

help@kingofflash.co.uk

We will arrange an appropriate replacement, refund or return at no additional reasonable cost to you.

Please do not pay return postage yourself without contacting us first unless we tell you to do so.

18. GOODS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Where possible, please send:

  • your order number;

  • photographs of the damaged product;

  • photographs of the packaging; and

  • a description of the damage.

Please keep the packaging until we have advised you whether it is required for the courier investigation.

Damage occurring in transit before the goods are delivered to you is our responsibility where applicable under consumer law.

19. MISSING ITEMS

If an item is missing from your parcel, please contact us as soon as possible at:

help@kingofflash.co.uk

Please include your order number and details of the missing item.

We may check our:

  • packing records;

  • order records;

  • parcel weight information; and

  • delivery information

before resolving the claim.

20. PARCEL NOT RECEIVED

If your tracking information shows a delay or you believe your parcel has been lost, please contact us.

We may need to investigate the delivery with the postal or courier company.

Your statutory rights regarding delivery remain unaffected.

21. REFUNDS FOR CHANGE-OF-MIND CANCELLATIONS

Where you validly cancel an online order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund the amount you paid for the returned goods.

We will also refund the basic delivery charge you paid to have the goods delivered to you, up to the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method we offered.

For example, if:

  • standard delivery cost £2.99; and

  • you voluntarily selected express delivery costing £7.99,

we would normally only be required to refund the standard £2.99 delivery amount.

If the entire original order qualified for free standard delivery, there is no outbound delivery charge to refund.

22. PARTIAL ORDER RETURNS

If you return only part of an order, we will refund the price of the items validly returned.

The original delivery charge may not be refundable where the same delivery cost would have been incurred for the goods you kept.

This does not affect any greater right you may have under applicable consumer law.

23. WHEN WE ISSUE REFUNDS

For statutory change-of-mind cancellations involving returned goods, we may withhold reimbursement until:

  • we receive the goods back; or

  • you provide evidence that the goods have been sent back,

whichever occurs first.

Once the applicable conditions have been satisfied, refunds will be made without undue delay and within the period required by law.

24. HOW REFUNDS ARE PAID

Refunds will normally be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless you expressly agree otherwise.

We do not charge a fee for issuing a statutory refund.

Once we have processed your refund, your bank, credit card provider, PayPal, Shopify Payments or other payment provider may require additional processing time before the refund appears in your account.

These banking and payment-processing times are outside our control.

25. EXCHANGES

If you wish to exchange a product because you ordered the wrong item, please contact us.

Depending on the circumstances, the simplest procedure may be for you to:

  1. return the unwanted item in accordance with this policy; and

  2. place a new order for the correct product.

Faulty or incorrectly supplied goods will be handled in accordance with your statutory rights.

26. SALE AND DISCOUNTED ITEMS

Products purchased in:

  • sales;

  • promotions;

  • clearance events; or

  • using discount codes

have the same statutory consumer rights as products purchased at full price.

A genuine reduction in price does not remove your rights if the goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

27. FREE GIFTS AND MULTI-BUY PROMOTIONS

If your order included a free product or formed part of a multi-buy or bundle promotion and you subsequently return part of the order, the refund may be adjusted where reasonably necessary to reflect the terms of the promotion.

Where a free gift was conditional upon purchasing a particular product, we may require the free gift to be returned when that product is returned.

Nothing in this section will reduce your statutory rights.

28. PERSONALISED OR CUSTOM-MADE GOODS

Certain products made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you may be excluded from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right.

Where an exemption applies, we will make this clear where reasonably practicable.

This exemption does not affect your rights if personalised or custom-made goods are:

  • faulty;

  • damaged;

  • incorrectly supplied; or

  • not as described.

29. PROOF OF PURCHASE

We may ask for reasonable proof that the goods were purchased from King of Flash.

This could include:

  • your order number;

  • order confirmation;

  • receipt;

  • payment record; or

  • another reasonable form of evidence.

30. BUSINESS CUSTOMERS

The statutory consumer cancellation rights described in this policy apply to consumers and generally do not apply where goods are purchased wholly or mainly for business purposes.

Returns from business customers are therefore subject to:

  • our business terms;

  • any specific agreement made with us; and

  • any statutory rights which apply to the transaction.

Please contact us before returning a business purchase.

31. ABUSE OF THE RETURNS PROCESS

Nothing in this policy limits genuine statutory consumer rights.

However, we reserve the right to investigate activity where we reasonably suspect:

  • fraudulent return claims;

  • products have deliberately been damaged;

  • different products have been substituted;

  • serial numbers or identifying marks have been altered;

  • a return contains items not purchased from us; or

  • another form of returns fraud has occurred.

Where appropriate, we may refuse a claim that is fraudulent and may take other lawful action.

This policy should be read alongside our:

  • Cookie Policy.
